Service To The Community
Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry makes prayer shawls which are given to people in need of comfort and healing. At meetings, ministry members pray over completed shawls and work on other projects such as afghans for the Abington Hospice, lap robes for homeless shelters and Veteran homes, baby blankets for Project Linus, and knit hats for children on Indian reservations. The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets the third Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m.. Anyone can join who likes to knit or crochet (or learn how). If you cannot attend the meetings, you can still help by knitting or crocheting items as you have time.

Teen Mission Trip
Each July, our high school and college youth travel somewhere in the United States to gather with youth groups from across the country and serve another community. Participants grow in faith, make new friends, and bring the good news of Jesus to communities through their words and service. Contact Kelli Barulli for more information.
Code Blue
While the cold weather drives most of us indoors, those who are homeless in our community have little choice but to brave the elements and seek a little warmth wherever it can be found. In 2009, several area churches reached out to the homeless in Lower Bucks County. Those living in homeless camps were transported to churches where they shared meals and were provided with clean clothes. That same year, Bucks County Commissioners worked with this “Homeless Outreach Team”, soon officially named “Advocates for Homeless & Those in Need” (AHTN). What began as an effort by a few of the faithful has now grown to include over thirty-nine places of worship.
Whenever the temperature drops below 20 degrees, Bucks County responds by calling a “Code Blue”. Volunteers respond by driving buses, preparing meals, staffing shelters, and treating our guests and friends with dignity. This year will start the 12th Code Blue Shelter Season. Code Blue runs from December 1st, 2020 to March 31st, 2021. AHTN refers to those we serve as guests and friends.
If interested in volunteering, you may speak with members Jack Hafer or Steve Schroeder
