Learning And Spiritual Growth
Sunday Church School For Children
Come and experience Good Shepherd’s Sunday School Program which begins in September and continues until the middle of May. We have classes for ages 2 through 12th grade every Sunday at 10:15 am. Students learn Bible stories that connect with the readings they hear in worship. Lessons are filled with interactive and engaging activities that connect faith and everyday life.
For more information about our Sunday school program for children and youth, please contact Tracy Gannon at 215-805-2711 or email her at Tracygannon809@gmail.com.
Sunday Church School For Adults
There are multiple options for adults during the Sunday school hour. The Faithweavers group discusses a topic which aligns with the children’s lesson which facilitates family discussion during the week. Additionally, there are single and multi-week presentations and seminars offered throughout the year which offer in depth discussions of topics in Christianity and current world issues.
First Communion Classes
Traditionally taken by our first and second graders, First Communion Classes are offered once in the fall and once in the spring. Students and their parents meet in a group setting with the Pastor to learn more about the significance of Holy Communion in three evening sessions. Contact the church office for more information.
Confirmation Program
We become a member of the Body of Christ when we are baptized. Because many are baptized as babies, when they are in 8th grade they begin the confirmation program to deepen their faith and confirm the promises their parents made for them years ago. The confirmation program is an interweaving of service, worship, and learning, all contributing to spiritual growth. This is a 2 year program.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is held every summer, usually during the third or fourth full week of June, Monday through Friday. Each session, children gather at Good Shepherd and learn about God, experience exciting bible adventures and grow in faith together.
